I've wanted to go to Restaurant Week for a number of years, but for one reason or another, I always miss it. This year Nevada, my main squeeze, and I made sure we didn't miss out this year. For those of you who don't know, Restaurant Week is a week-long event where restaurants around San Diego create special prix fixe menus ranging from $10-$40. It's a great way to try restaurants that may either be outside of your budget or your everyday palate. We decided to try The Hake Kitchen and Bar in La Jolla Cove for lunch. We’ve passed it a few times on our strolls through the area and were curious. Plus, it’s a great spot to walk off a meal. The Hake specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, seafood in particular. If you're not a seafood fan, don't fret. The Hake also has a nice selection of meat dishes as well. Most of their food is served tapas-style, but they also have traditional entrees as well.
Being the newbie that I am, I assumed that when we reserved seats for Restaurant Week, we would only be able to order from the prix fixe menu. Well, we all know what happens when you assume...
