Yesterday marked one year since I lost my Grandmother. She was the strongest, sweetest, most caring woman I know. I called her Nani. She was the "Queen Bee" of our family. This beautiful woman was more than a grandmother. Because, I was fortunate enough to spend so much time with her, she was truly a second mother to me. We lived only a few minutes away from her house. After school, the bus would drop my sister, cousin and I off at her house and when we were smaller, we spent summer days at her house while our parents were at work. Nani was stern when she had to be and encouraging when you needed it the most. She gave the world's greatest hugs and was the queen of innuendo (it's where I get it from!). She was not one to mince words so you always knew her opinion on things (for better or for worse).
I love her with all of my heart! I will treasure my memories of her always.
